The inexpensive T6A Radio Transmitter requires a PC cable to modify any of the channel variables including mixing and servo reversing.  (Download the T6 Manual.)

Here is a zip of all the files that come on the mini-CD included with the programming cable (includes Windows 7 and 10/11 drivers, and the t6config program): t6configdriver.zip.
- Older zip file for anyone needing the Windows XP driver: T6install.zip.
- If you are running Vista, you will need to install this driver instead: Vista-Driver.

Mixing programs:
Here is the "Mixed Drive" program we supply in our transmitters: hk-t6a-Viper-mixed-R2. (The file has no extension. Save As to the folder of your choice, then open it from inside the T6config program.)
- Right stick drives, ratcheted left stick throttles weapon, knob + switch B (top left) can also run an aux weapon.

Or if you prefer "Tank Drive": hk-t6a-Viper-tank-R1. (The file has no extension. Save As to the folder of your choice, then open it from inside the T6config program.)
- Left stick up/down for left wheel, Right stick up/down for right wheel. This allows both Ch5 and Ch6 (knobs & switches A & B) to be used for weapons. You will need a Spring-Return Kit for the left stick which is normally ratcheted.

Instructions for installation:

Do not plug anything in yet.

1. Install the driver (CP210x Driver Installer)

2. Plug the programming cable into a USB port. Windows will detect it and install its own drivers. They might show up as "Unknown USB Device", that's okay.

3. Install t6config.exe.

4. Open your Control Panel and open System->Hardware->Device Manager. Expand "Ports(COM & LPT)"* and make note of the "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge" COM Port. (Older version might be called "Prolific USB to Serial".)

5. Plug the cable into the back of the transmitter and turn it on.

6. Run T6config. Select Setting and set the COM Port to the one you noted before.

7. Verify that moving the transmitter sticks moves the green bars. Don't click anything yet.

8. After verifying it is communicating, click "GETUSER". (Important! Making changes before clicking GETUSER will mangle the transmitter settings.  Not a problem if you are just loading a saved program.)

9. Save your settings right away so you can come back to them if you need to.

10. Now you can start modifying settings OR load our default file "hk-t6a-Viper-mixed-R2" into the transmitter by clicking Open and selecting that file. It will load into the transmitter immediately.

* If you are running Windows 10/11 and do not see Port in your Device Manager, follow these steps:
1. Open "Device Manager"
2. Select menu "Action" -> "Add legacy hardware", then Click "Next"
3. Select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)" -> then click "Next"
4. Scroll down, then select "Ports (COM & LPT)", then click "Next"
5. Select "Manufacturer" as your need, (in this case, I'm selecting standard type or default option) then click "Next"
6. Finished!

Worked as advertised

Worked as advertised. Programmed my HK-T6A easily.

Perhaps not very special is the cable itself, but the instructions, drivers, software, & mixing program provided on FingerTech's page were what made the programming super simple & super fast!

A Must-Have for HK-T6
- 26th October 2015
The HK-T6A is a terrible radio in the grand scheme of things. However, for $20 it is a fantastic radio. With the programming cable, you can adjust your mixes, end-travel points, set up tank or internally mixed steering, and all those other fancy things Spektrum will charge you $150 to do. The programming cable is perhaps the most useful thing that FT sells, especially with their clear-cut and easy to use guide.

I searched all over the internet for the HK-CT6B cable and couldn't find it anywhere and finally stumbled on here. I would highly recommend dealing with fingertech robotics, they do what they say they do.

What more can you ask for?

Great work, looking forward to doing more business with you.

Thank You

Perfect product. There is a mistake in the description, actually it uses CP210x driver (not PL2303). [Webmaster: Updated, thanks!] For up to date driver use the following link:

Flysky T6A 2.4GHz 6-Channel Radio Transmitter

The simple Flysky "T6A" 2.4GHz Transmitter is an excellent radio for robotics. Six channels lets you control all sorts of add-ons!
There is a knob and switch for both Channels 5 and 6. This allows you to set a motor speed or servo position, then switch it on to that preset position.

• AFHDS frequency hopping protocol. No crystals to buy, and no need to worry about other radios interfering with your robot.
• One stick has spring return on both axes, the other has a ratchet for the up/down axis.
• Requires a T6RA V2 receiver (not included)(V1 will not work)
• Same transmitter as HobbyKing HK-T6A, works with HK-T6RA V2 receivers.
