We've received many emails lately about selling a 3lb Combat Kit.  We are still evaluating a couple products to really make a full kit, but in the meantime this bundle of parts along with the few recommendations listed will get you what you need to build a bot similar to champions Black Adder (Canada), Ricola (USA), and K2 (UK).

• This design is based on champions, but we're not going to just hand you an event-winning robot. You've got to earn it! There will be cutting and drilling required. Building the chassis yourself means you will know how to fix it when it gets damaged, and give you insight into how the bot is performing mid-fight when you can't stop to investigate it.

• This robot will require soldering. Quick connectors are fine in Antweights, but Beetleweights experience forces high enough to pop connectors right off of things. If you are stepping up to the 3lb class, soldering is a skill we highly recommend practicing.

• Clicking "Add To Cart" will add this list of parts to your cart. You are welcome to "order off-menu" with this kit. The bundle is our suggested parts list, but if you want to change anything you can just add the parts separately and modify or subtract whatever you like.

• If this bundle shows out of stock, it's probably because just one part is out. Feel free to message us to ask what's missing and if we can recommend a different part to replace it with.

Bundle Includes:

Weapon:The weapon is our popular Beater Bar Assembly with matching Beater Bar Electronics. Paired with a 3S lipoly battery this bar will spin up to 16k RPM.
Drive Motors:2x 22mm 730rpm Premium Planetary Gearmotors.  Until we have our own custom beetle drive motors, we recommend these and have brought in some stock so you don't have to order from multiple stores. (Not available separately.)
Motor Controllers:2x tinyESCs translate the radio commands into motor movement and power the receiver. Solder the included 0.01uF capacitors across the motor leads for noise suppression.
Motor Mounts:2x Flat Motor Mounts makes for a strong and easy way to securely hold the drive motors in the UHMW sidewalls. You will need to enlarge the center bore to 14mm (9/16in) for the drive motor face extrusions to fit. Make sure to clamp it down to drill!
Wheels:2x 2.50x0.75" Foam Wheels are soft and grippy.  A direct hit will be absorbed and won't destroy your motors!
Wheel Hubs:2x 4mm x 0.75" Twist Hubs and Twist Hub Key.
Power Switch:FingerTech Mini Power Switch
Battery Connector:XT60 male connector
Wire:Red 16ga wire for joining the XT60 to the Mini Switch, and creating a small pigtail for the weapon ESC and tinyESCs to join onto. Black 16ga wire for the negative side of things, except no power switch in that line. Includes 10cm lengths of each. (Wires not available separately.) Don't forget to use heatshrink.
Top/Bottom Frame Materials:A sheet of 1/16in lexan and 1/16in garolite are used for the top and bottom of the robot. These come in 203x254mm (8x10in) sheets that will need to be cut and drilled to fit your design. You will be able to make two of each from the full sheet - it's good to have a spare in case of damage!

Requires:

Chassis:The most common frame material is UHWM polyethylene, but is very close to common cutting boards so people sometimes use those if they can't find a store for UHMW. The chassis wall panels are 0.375in thick and the wheel guards are 0.125in thick.
You may also want some aluminum or other stronger metal for front forks to keep wedge-bots from getting underneath you. We've used both 0.375in aluminum and 3mm titanium with success.
Battery:11.1V 1000mAh "Galaxy" lipoly pack, available with C6D Lipoly Charger as an Option below. You can get away with the 850mAh pack but would need to throttle down the weapon on full 3-minute matches or it won't last.
Screws:4pcs M2x0.4 countersunk screws no longer than 5.5mm (0.21in) for mounting the drive motors to the Flat Mounts.
8pcs #4 x 0.5in flat head thread-rolling screw for Flat Motor Mounts to chassis.
2pcs M2x0.4 x 20mm countersunk machine screws with nuts for mounting power switch.
3/32in and 5/64in hex wrenches for Mini Power Switch and Twist Hubs, if you don't already own some.
The "~" means these are what we used in our robot (pictured above) but you may decide on different designs.
~8pcs #6 x 0.875in thread-forming screws for fastening chassis walls together.
~36pcs #6 x 0.5in thread-forming screws for fastening top and bottom armor panels.
~4pcs 10-32 x 1in machine screw with nylon lock-nuts for attaching front forks.
Phillips screwdriver for the above screws.

• Transmitter and receiver are required. If you don't have them already, you can add them with the option above. "Radio Option" includes: T6A Radio Transmitter, TR6A receiver  (Transmitter requires 8 AA batteries.)

• If you don't already have a 3S 850-1000mAh battery and lipoly charger, they are available as an option above. "Lipoly Option" includes: Lipoly charger, 11.1V 1000mAh "Galaxy" lipoly battery

• An optional Programming Cable can be used to reprogram the functions on the transmitter. FingerTech's radios come programmed for mixed driving (most common) but if you prefer tank-style 2-stick driving you will need to reprogram.
